I've been designing websites for nearly 7 years as a freelance web designer and continue take on select design progjects.
I'm not claiming to be much of a writer but I do want to share my knowledge with people because it brings me joy. If you learn from my blog and appreciate my posts, let me know.
The websites that I design are all custom, you will never see another website like the ones I create. Does that mean that one has to be a rocket scientist to put together a website? No, anyone can copy webpage and change some words and post it but are you really designing a website?
I will always suggest client to browse the internet to find styles that they like. Browsing will help you decide colors and layouts. This is one of the first steps to designing your website. Keep a notepad handy if you decide you see something that you like and want to be able to return to that site at a later time. Instead of using a notepad you may decide to use "Favorites". But stay organized when using browser tools otherwise you may find it difficult to find the sites that you want to return to.
